Terms and conditions

Full fees are payable and are non-refundable unless we receive a cancellation notice at least 4 weeks before the scheduled date of arrival, when a £200 cancellation fee is charged. All cancellations must be notified in writing to English on Sea and are only validated with written acknowledgement of receipt from the school.

Students are expected to attend the course every day and to be punctual. English on Sea retains the right to dismiss any student for reasons of serious misconduct, as considered by the school, without refund of fees.

We cannot refund fees to students who start the course late, miss parts of the course or leave early for any reason.

English on Sea is a non-smoking, drinking or drugs programme. Students are not permitted to smoke, drink alcohol or take drugs or illegal substances at any time during the programme. Students are also not permitted to purchase or consume alcohol, cigarettes or illegal substances at any time during their stay and it is not permitted to do this when under the age of 18 within the United Kingdom.

English on Sea reserves the right to modify and improve the course and price without prior notice. However, if we accept you on a course, the prices and conditions will be fixed.

We do not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or misadventure you may suffer in the family or elsewhere, or if you miss part of the course due to circumstances beyond our control.

Students must take out appropriate travel and medical insurance before travelling to England. For EU citizens, the student must obtain and bring a valid European Health Insurance Card.

Enrolments are accepted on the understanding that the student has no illness or infirmity which might adversely affect the success of the stay, and that any transmissible disease suffered by the student must be declared at the time of booking.

It is the responsibility of the student’s parent or guardian to consult the carrier regarding their policy on unaccompanied minors. Many carriers insist on special arrangements for people under the age of 18 travelling alone.

On departure, our driver will accompany students to the check-in queue. If a driver is required to wait while a student checks in and goes through to the departure lounge, there will be an additional charge.
